Yacht Charters with Catering on the French Riviera

05.10.21

The French Riviera, also known as the Côte d'Azur, is one of the most popular destinations for yacht charters with catering, whether private or corporate. With a mild climate year round, numerous high-profile events such as Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Grand Prix and Monaco Yacht Show and lovely scenery it's no wonder it's a formidable choice for a yachting vacation.

Catering is a service that goes very well with boat and yacht rental, especially for events that last only one day such as family celebrations, anniversaries, weddings, or corporate events.

Why choose yacht charters with catering using Adams & Adams?

Catering for guests on yachts can elevate an already special experience and make your event pop!

We plan menus as far in advance in order to be able to meet any particular needs of guests such as dietary requirements. An onboard catering service can either work with prearranged menus, or tailor-made menus that can be customised according to the number of guests, size of the vessel and time that will be spent docked in a marina or cruising to another destination.

Our chefs at Adams & Adams have years of experience delivering a wide range of cuisine, and are proficient at working with the current yacht chefs or as an additional catering service for parties either on board or at the quay.

Local knowledge about French Riviera events

The French Riviera is a popular destination and due to the high number of annual events and a Mediterranean yacht charter season it can be busy, generating all kinds of challenges such as traffic delays.

When booking catering with Adams & Adams, it's vitally important to discuss logistics for the marina where your event will take place; for example during Monaco Grand Prix or Cannes Film Festival there are restrictions for access to roads and the port.

Being well informed means we can eliminate risk whereby this might cause serious delays in food delivery or even the cancellation of your catering. Not a good impression for your sophisticated event! Don't hesitate to ask us questions as we are here to help.

Bespoke menus for your private or corporate yachting event

We work with the client to plan menus well in advance. This ensures we have the exact guest numbers and can create dishes that cater for everyone. Likewise, we can suggest alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink that will impress your guests. We provide professional and discreet front of house bar staff and serving staff who are comfortable meeting and greeting people.

Our Adams & Adams chefs will personally shop for your menu - buying the highest quality local ingredients and produce.

Even on the largest superyachts, there are limitations to the workspace in the galley and food storage areas so we plan well in advance. Everything is taken care of so the client doesn't need to arrive at the yacht with equipment, cookware or serving ware.

Cannes Film Festival shows commitment to environmental responsibility

27.04.21

The Festival de Cannes has recognised the need for environmental responsibility related to hosting a major international event, and has announced a number of measures that will be in place for the 74th festival that will take place from July 6-17, 2021.

After consultation with Green Événements, the Festival organisers have realised the importance of reducing their carbon footprint : recycling tarpaulins and carpets, reduction of electricity usage thanks to planned lighting, optimisation of waste recovery, carbon offsetting contributions for travel, printing on certified paper etc.

Cannes Film Festival 2021 will have a three-pronged strategy:

  1. Reducing waste and carbon emissions.
  2. Recovering residual materials.
  3. Offsetting the carbon footprint.

12 initiatives will be in place for Cannes Film Festival 2021:

  1. 60% of the official cars will be electric or hybrid vehicles.
  2. A 50% reduction in the volume of red carpet used, already fully recyclable and recycled.
  3. A 24% reduction in carpet used in the International Village zones.
  4. A 50% reduction in paper printing based on a reduced print run and more online content. The festival's Official Programme will be available online, and the print version will be launched mid-May to subscribers.
  5. Maintaining a waste recovery rate of 95%. In 2019, 99% of the 250 tons of waste was recovered: 81% in materials, 19% in energy.
  6. Raising awareness of eco-responsibility with the organising committee, Marché du Film exhibitors, suppliers and participants.
  7. The appointment of an independent scientific committee to select reliable and relevant compensation programmes. During the next festival, the committee will unveil selected local, national and international projects to which the sums collected by the contributions of the festival and participants will be allocated.
  8. An environmental contribution from the festival to offset the footprint of the event's production (preparation, assembly, technical means, by products).
  9. An environmental contribution of €20 excl. VAT from festival goers to compensate for the footprint for travel and accommodation.
  10. A soft mobility incentive thanks to a pass for public transport access in Cannes on presentation of a festival badge.
  11. The total elimination of plastic water bottles (there were 20,000+ in 2019).
  12. Responsible catering: Each supplier will respect specifications encouraging the use of local producers and seasonal produce, offer vegetarian alternatives, reduce and limit waste.

Palais des Festivals certifications

After obtaining the “Sanitary Security Label” and “Ecovid Label” issued by SOCOTEC, in February 2021, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes was awarded North America’s top health certification for public hospitality facilities in March 2021, the GBAC STAR™ Facility.

Awarded by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council*, this certification attests the implementation of the strictest protocols in terms of cleaning, disinfection and prevention of infectious diseases within the establishment.

Already issued to the largest convention centres in the U.S, this certification has for the first time been awarded to a convention centre in France. These certifications have allowed health protocol assessments of the Palais' office and organisational areas, Tourist Office and shop, delivery docks, terraces, exhibition spaces, and reception and conference areas.

This is great news for the rejuvenation of Cannes events including Festival de Cannes. We’re looking forward to welcoming our clients back to Cannes events in the future.
